morning shootaround
And a one, and a two, a three.
Last night's NOW episode featured the four major minor party candidates. The show's producers did a fine job balancing the roundtable - I suppose you could call them roundtable discussions - discussions with nuts-and-boltsy questions and letting them stump a little.
Ralph Nader (I) was brilliant, passionate, and a dick.
David Cobb (GR) was genial and clever.
Michael Badnarik (LIB) was intelligent and pleasant and comes across as though he genuinely cares about the Libertarian Party and public service, as opposed to merely being an angry contrarian.
Michael Peroutka (CONS)...well, you'd better just go and look at the website. Once upon a time I was fortunate enough to work at a comic store, right about the time Marvel put out their "Ultimate" series, which revamped the top-line characters like the X-men and Spidey. Some people couldn't hang, though - you see, because Gwen Stacy DIES, she doesn't live...Mary Jane DOESN'T KNOW who Spiderman really is...you get the point. Anyway, Mr. Peroutka reminds of those zealous fanboys.
