here comes the future
ASSOCIATED PRESS, March 31 - A Colorado Springs-based church group is taking the tissue maker Kleenex to task for failing to promote what they call "a culture of life."
Jerry Reynolds, the group's founding member, says he was inspired by the attention Pharmacists For Life has received in recent days, and decided to take up "the group's left flank."
Reynolds says that not enough attention is being paid to teen and twentysomething boys who use Kleenex after masturbating.
"They've got the wanton college girl bloc wrapped up, so I'll be taking on the group's left flank - the Maxim-reading, Spike-watching young man who generally avoids the pharmacy, except for breath mints or acne medicine," Reynolds said.
Pharmacists For Life is a group started by pharmacists who refuse to dispense certain medicines they don't believe in, primarily birth control and "morning after" contraceptives.
"How many healthy children have we lost in a day's time to male masturbation?" asks the Reynolds. "Kleenex is only aiding and abetting in this daily genocide. I place them on par with the American companies, like Ford and IG Farben, who supported the Nazis."
Reynolds said that he plans to begin a campaing called "Kleenex? KleeNOT!" this summer, enlisting as many 12-25 year old boys as possible who will take a pledge "to go tissueless" until marriage. They also plan a series of wildcat protests outside drug stores and grocery markets.
Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, which owns the Kleenex brand, had no comment as this article went to press.
