doctor?
Our geekiest blog yet:
Atrios - named after a planet in the Whoniverse - gives the liberal dem stamp of approval to the 9th Doc.
I'd go so far as to say that the Doctor was in fact more radical - not left, just radical - than your run-of-the-mill Eschaton reader: despite mostly misplaced efforts to tinker with the morality or motivations of the Doc's meddling and/or heroism by ambitious writers in the years between Paul McGann and Chris Eccleston, it should have been blantantly obvious to any fan that the Doctor was always strongly anti-colonial and a proponent of diversity and pacifism, among other things, to his very Time Lord core - the alien anarchist to the resuce.
I think he'd have been quite comfortable quaffing drinks and organic burgers with somebody like Alexander Cockburn, having green tea and chatting up Arundhati Roy, or stopping into MIT to get a first edition of American Power and the New Mandarins signed (though of course, it just so happens the Cybermen invade the campus to steal Chomsky's brain).
