weapons of mass distortion
I threw this together (at least I think I did) for TNS a day or three ago; since then, Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility's posted a document that allegedly reviews some of the EPA's plans for the Brand-New-April-Fresh-Smelling-Now-With-Mint-Flavor-Not-Your-Dad's-Stuffy-and-Sciencey EPA.
In addition, PEER's fingered the brains behind this scheme, Assistant Administrator Michael Brown, as "a former top advertising executive with Fleishman-Hilliard and handled accounts for clients such as Starbucks, Bass ale, Snapper tools and Georgia Natural Gas." Read the full press release here.
I think the emerging theme of this story is what exactly is going to be sold by the EPA, considering the people in charge for the next two years or so have very little use for what the EPA actually does and the fact that scientific data tends to line up in favor of the "reality-based community."
